We are very pleased to announce the new Borrower membership tier for Wilson House Library Company. The most notable feature about this tier is its price: Borrower memberships are free.
When we launched Wilson House about two months ago, we had a single membership tier: Patron membership. This cost a very affordable $40 for three months, or $140 for a year.
However, we have been thinking about ways that we can introduce more people in Armidale to membership in our Library. The new Borrower membership tier is what we’ve come up with.
What’s the deal?
With a free Borrower membership, you can browse and borrow from a curated selection of books called the Borrower Catalogue. This will be a rotating selection of about 100 books, and it will feature most of the kinds of books that we have in our entire collection: Christian living, theology, literary fiction, kids’ books and so on.
Borrowers can have up to four books on loan at any time, and they can keep them for four weeks. Just like with our Patron memberships, Borrowers can pick up and return their orders for free at our door in Armidale, and share the books they have borrowed with their household.
We think that the Borrower membership tier will be a great way for people to try out and enjoy Wilson House.
What about Patrons?
The Patron membership isn’t going anywhere, and we will continue to offer it for the same affordable price.
As always, Patrons can borrow any book in the collection and can have up to twelve books on loan at a time. However, Patrons can now enjoy an extended borrowing period of six weeks rather than four. (This will make it easier to get a big stack of books all at once, and read through them at a somewhat more leisurely pace.)
